Company Profile

Shonrei is a family business which has been manufacturing for the jewellery retail sector for over 70 years.  The family business began in 1932 during the great depression when we sold our first pieces of jewellery, made from the unique paua shell from off the beaches of New Zealand.  A wholesaler came to hear of the venture and it became apparent that a market did exist and by 1937 a building was purchased and set up with a factory production line where 20 people were employed.

 The family business was unique, well regarded in the trade and had high quality product.  By 1979, we employed 120 staff. 

In 1982, the family took another direction, having sold the jewellery manufacturing business and established that the New Zealand market needed a better packaging and display outlet.  By 1988, we were exporting to Australia.  This has kept increasing, with currently 60% of products exported.

Over the last 27 Years, Shonrei has diversified into the display and presentation for the wholesale and retail jewellery outlets.  This had brought a wide range of product to equip and service the jewellery trade.  Shonrei have been innovative in designing and supplying major global jewellery store groups.

Shonrei continue to dedicate themselves to produce effective displays that are well suited to the jewellery trade.  We are confident our range is unique, due to the high quality, interchangeable and compact designs; well suited to any jewellery department.
